Commercial Refrigeration
Equipment
• Refers to the cold storage equipment
used in commercial settings.
• Examples include the reach-in
refrigerators and freezers found in
supermarkets, specialty food stores,
convenience stores, and grocery stores.
• The walk-in refrigerators and freezers
found in restaurant equipment and
cafeterias would also be
considered commercial
refrigeration equipment.

Commercial
Refrigeration Equipment

• Refrigeration has allowed

businesses and homeowners
to store foods and beverages
for extended periods without
spoilage.
• Commercial refrigeration keeps
both prepared foods and meal
ingredients cold by removing
heat for convenience and
safety.

Idea of Investing in a fast-food shop might have
a limited inventory, and
Commercial Refrigerator therefore you might feel a
domestic refrigerator is an
ideal size for your needs.
• However, before making
that assumption, it is best
to understand the main
differences between
commercial and domestic
refrigerators.
• Chances are you will
decide a commercial
refrigerator is a must in
the interest of your guests
and business.

Commercial
Air-
conditioning
Commercial
Airconditioning
• Utilized to chill, heat, and
dehumidify the air.
• Used in offices, shops, cafes,
restaurants, schools, leisure
centers, gyms, and any other sort
of commercial property.
• In order to maintain a comfortable
temperature and air quality for
customers and/or employees in the
summer and winter.

1. Central
Airconditioning
• It is with the help of
ductwork that the Central Air
Conditioning system moves
air throughout your space.
• It combines the supply air
ducts that spread conditioned
air throughout the area with
return air ducts.
Return Air Ducts
• Responsible to
bring the
conditioned air
back to the system.
• Makes the air cool,
in fact, it also
removes some part
of the moisture
present. This makes
the area
comfortable.
2. Ductless, Mini-
Split Air
Conditioner
• Consists of one
outside unit and one
indoor unit
connected by
refrigerant tubing
and electrical
cabling.
Interior Unit

• A wall-mounted, provides heated

or cooled air directly into the
living space, eliminating the
need for ductwork.
• A single-zone system is meant to
give heating and cooling comfort
to a single area.
• Hence, this one is also perfect for
a small enclosed kind of setting.
3. Multi Split Air
Conditioner
• Operate similarly to single-split
systems, except they allow you
to connect multiple interior
units to a single outside unit.
• Restaurants, businesses, and
offices frequently employ this
approach.
4. VRF and VRV

• VRV (variable
refrigerant volume)
• VRF (variable
refrigerant flow) serves
as an ideal HVAC
solution for medium to
big applications, such as
hotels, workplaces, and
retail stores.
Variable
refrigerant flow
or VRF
• Similar to a multi-
split system,
• VRF systems comprise
of one outdoor unit
that is connected to
multiple indoor
units and/or zones.

VRF
systems
• Can achieve greater energy
efficiency and comfort than a
multi-split
• Continually adjust the amount
of refrigerant flowing to each
indoor unit, giving the operator
greater control over their indoor
temperature.
• What’s more is that with VRF, it’s
possible to cool and heat each
room individually and even the
entire floor of a building.

Four (4) Types
of VRF systems

• 2 pipe VRF system,

• 3 pipe VRF system,
• Water-cooling
system, and
• Gas operated
system.
2 pipe VRF
system
• Provides cooling to the
areas that need it by
supplying the
refrigerant through
refrigerant pipes in a
liquid form.
• In contrast, the areas
that require heating are
provided with the
refrigerant through
refrigerant pipes in a
gaseous form.
3 pipe VRF
system
These three lines consist
of: one is for cooling
purpose, one for heating
purpose, and the last one
is a return line.
Here, each of the indoor
units is diverged using 3
pipes with the use of a
solenoid box that is
enriched with a set of
valves.
Water-Cooling
Systems
• Work as an air-cooled unit.
• Use and plate the heat exchanger
that, in result, transfers the energy
into the water loop instead of
opting for a built-in air-cooled
heat exchanger.
• These systems are attached to a
cooling tower or a dry cooler that
transfers the heat or energy into
the atmosphere.
• Because of such operation, the
water-cooling systems can be
deployed internally in smaller
areas without any stress regarding
the vertical risers. They are also
ideal according to the
environmental needs.
Gas Operated
Systems
• Due to the scarcity of
electricity supply, there has
been an introduction of Gas
operated systems.
• These systems are enriched
with Gas driven engines that
work on natural gases or
Calor Gas supply.
• These systems are capable
enough to build up to 90
KW of heating and cooling
with the use of one single
phase.
