Power Transformers and
ICTs Diagnostic Testing.
IR (Insulation Resistance) Testing:
1) Insulation ages and Deteriorate because moisture , dust,
electrostatic stress.
2) IR Test detect Insulation quality within the Transformers.
3) Detect the degree of dryness of paper insulation.
4) Instruments required: IR Tester (Range
500V,1000V,2500V,5000V,10000V).
5) For Transformer winding with in voltage rating up to 11kV , 2.5kV
IR tester sufficient.
6) For EHV level 5kV-10kV IR Tester.
