After your studies in senior high school, you are tasked
to be decisive on your career choice. The government,
colleges, and universities support smooth transitions
from education to employment. Henceforth, career
pathways are integrated to the guidance and counselling
services of your school to develop students’ core
academic, technical, and employability skills. It will also
help you in education, training, and place you in high-
demand, high opportunity job.
CAREER PATHWAYS
Career Pathways are similar to majoring in college, except that you may start your
learning experience in elementary or high school. You, as a student, no matter
what your post-secondary educational plans are, can benefit by selecting and
following a sequence of career related classes design for an area of interest.
• A pathway is a sequence of courses with your areas of interest
• A pathway will connect your career interests from high school to college
and/or career
• A pathway is your educational road map guiding you to the high school
courses and post-secondary options most relevant to your chosen career
destination.
• A pathway will help you acquire the depth of knowledge and skill invented
with specific [post-secondary programs that will lead to a certificate or
degree or career.
Career pathways are divided into career clusters that refers
to grouping of careers and broad industries based on
common knowledge and skills. Each career cluster
represents the knowledge and skills that are both
academic and technical.
Mtemeri explains that there are 16 career clusters based on
the common knowledge and skills of both academic and
technical achievements. Below is the list of each career

Career Pathways Mistakes
Mtemeri explains that choosing a career is
not all a one-time decision. It takes a
series of huge and important decisions.
It is not uncommon to make a mistake in
choosing a career. However, you can
avoid those mistake that could cause you
to completely lose control of your
career.
1. You must be practical and avoid being picky. You have to be
patient, and make sure that you take every opportunity that
waits for you. Make sure that the job suits your personality and
vision.
2. Accept a job offer that is more important than money. You have
to consider your happiness, family’s comfort, fulfillment and so
on.
3. Choose a career that matters and you are passionate of. Don’t
let your parents choose your career. Don’t please your parents at
your own expense.
4. Choose a career beyond titles. Make sure that the job you are
into satisfies you and not following other’s opinion

You are tasked to write an application letter to any employer you
wished to work with in the future. In your application letter, it
should include your values, short description about yourself,
skills ad major.

abroad. Study the job description, and roles and responsibilities .
