Brief description

Outcome
Through these minor courses students will improve
their mathematical skills which are used in
computational programming and they will able to

Course 1: Linear Algebra

•Linear algebra is a field of mathematics

that could be called the mathematics of
data.

• This course include the study of systems

of linear equations, matrices,
determinants, vectors and vector spaces,
linear transformations, eigenvalues,
eigenvectors and their applications.
Course 2: Discrete Mathematics for
computing

•Discrete mathematics includes the study

of algorithm, their implementation and
efficiencies.

•It is mathematical language of computer

science .The course serve as the tool to
solve the problem occurred in
programming language.
Course 3: Number Theory and
Cryptography

•Number theory have countless

applications in mathematics as well as in
practical applications including security,
memory management, authentication,
coding theory.

•Cryptography is the study of techniques

of secure communication in the presence

Course 4: Computation Technique

• To model real-world problems,

simplifications and approximations
always need to be made. This course will
introduce students to computational
methods to support mathematical
modelling for engineering design,
analysis and decision-making. The
course will introduce the fundamentals
of numerical and asymptotic
computational methods, including
optimisation, and apply these methods to
engineering problems.
What is an Open Minor?

 Interdisciplinary minors provide opportunities for students to extend learning

beyond their major or core area, allowing them to explore a number of different
subjects as per their interest.

 Minors permit students to use these electives with academic effectiveness and
precision to take a cohesive set of courses that explore intellectual interest. Minors
typically require four courses and are counted towards one’s electives.
