Physical Development

  the growth and development of both the


brain and body in infancy and early
childhood. 
Mental Development

 This includes such abilities as attending,


perceiving, observing, remembering,
imagining, thinking, solving problems and
growth of intelligence as well as of
language.
Stages of Mental Development
 (a) From Birth to Three Years: The child is
born with all the sensory equipment that are
needed for mental activity. By the age of three, he
shows the ability to fulfill his needs in a selective
manner.
 (b) From Three to Six Years: This period of
the child’s life is characterized by his ability to use
symbols and words.
 (c) Later Childhood: This period is marked by the
ability to acquire keen and accurate perception.

 (d) Adolescence: the period when the mental


development reaches its climax. The various
intellectual development activities such as
observation, perception, attention, memory, thinking
and reasoning and intelligence reach their maturity.
Social Development
 is about improving the well-being of
every individual in society so they can
reach their full potential.
Emotional Development
  involves learning what feelings and
emotions are, understanding how and
why they occur, recognizing your own
feelings and those of others.
Neuro-muscular coordination
 the ability of the nervous system to
efficiently recruit a muscle or a group
of muscles in order to perform a
specific task unconsciously.
Development of health
 the Physical Development & Health
domain describes children's physical
well-being, knowledge, health, safety,
and nutrition practices, and development
of motor skills.
