Expand: Go….Goo… Away!!

- In which we are going to inflate a balloon, put 11 dots and

mark one dot as “home “ and the rest A to H. Measure the

distance, inflate it again and record the distance from time to time

using a time table.

• Inflate the balloon till it reach 4 cm.

• Make 11 dots then label one dot as “Home” and the rest A

to H.

• Measure the distance of the dot from “home”. After

What did you notice with the distance of each dots from the
“home” each time you inflate the balloon?
- The distance of each dot once the balloon inflates from
“home” will get further and further away from its original
measure/position.

How would you compare the distance traveled by dots near -

the “home” do?
- The dots near the home will sometimes got near on further
depends on the balloon

What will happen if we continue inflate the balloon? Is there a

possibility that the dots will bump into each other? Is it
possible ?

-No, because as what we observe, even if how much we

inflated the balloon it is impossible for them to bump into
each other.

Why do you think the universe continue to expand?
