Brain,
Is a complex organ that controls
thought, memory, emotion, touch,
motor skills, vision, breathing,
temperature, hunger and every process
that regulates our body. Together, the
brain and spinal cord that extends
from it make up the central nervous
system, or CNS.
WHAT IS THE
BRAIN MADE OF?

With weight about 3 pounds for average adult, brain consist

of 60% fat and 40% is a combination of water, protein,
carbohydrates and salts.
Main
Parts of
Brain
1. Big brain (cerebrum)
2. Small brain
(cerebellum)
3. Brain stem
(brainstem)
BIG BRAIN (CEREBRUM) is the largest part of the
brain.

THE
CEREBRUM
Is further divided into 4 parts;

• The frontal lobe (front) which

controls movement, speech,
behavior, memory, emotions,
and personality
• The parietal (upper) lobe
controls sensations, such as
touch, pressure, pain and
temperature
• The temporal (side) lobe
controls hearing, memory, and
emotion. The left temporal lobe
also plays a role in speech.
• The occipital (back) lobe
controls vision.

SMALL BRAIN
(CEREBELLUM)
Located under the cerebrum at the back of the
brain, under the occipital lobe. Has 2 hemispheres.
Responsible for controlling movement, (writing
and painting), maintaining balance, and controlling
the position and coordination of body movements.
BRAIN STEM
(BRAINSTEM)
Functioning as the transmitter
station that connects the
cerebrum to the spinal cord.
Main 3 structures are midbrain
(control center of eye muscle
movement), pons
(coordinating eye movement
and facial muscles, hearing
and balance) and medulla
oblongata.
ARE
BRAIN
FUNCTIONS
COMMUNICAT
ING?
ALTHOUGH THE BRAIN IS
DIVIDED INTO THE RIGHT
AND LEFT
The two are BRAIN,
interconnected. There is constant
communication that makes them work. When the body
experiences something, the two sides will communicate
with each other.

The two brains are connected to each other by a nerve

fiber called the corpus callosum. These nerves allow us to
process and share data efficiently between each part of
the brain.

If between the left brain and right brain are not connected
to each other, then there will be disturbances in the
transfer of information and impact on everyday life.
HOWBRAIN
WORKS?
The brain sends and receives chemical and electrical
signals throughout the body. Different signals control
different processes, and your brain interprets each. To
do this, the central nervous system relies on billions of
neurons (nerve cells).

AND IT’S RELATIONSHIP TO

PSYCHO?
The working system of brain is very closely related to
motor movements/ behavior. Neurons activity in brain
will affect our motor movements, makes us available to
move. The working system of brain regulates all of our
behavior so far.
