THE TONGUE

Zafeerah, Aireen, Lava, Layla, Maya

THE TONGUE IS A MUSCULAR ORGAN IN THE MOUTH WHICH IS THE SENSORY ORGAN OF TASTE... THERE ARE TINY NODULES KNOWN AS PAPILLAE ON
THE SURFACE OF TONGUE.. PAPILLAE ARE THE LITTLE BUMPS ON THE TOP OF YOUR TONGUE THAT HELP GRIP FOOD WHILE YOUR TEETH ARE CHEWING.
SALIVA DISSOLVES THE CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES IN FOOD WHICH WILL THEN DIFFUSE INTO THE TASTE BUDS. THE SURFACE OF A PAPILLAE IS COVERED BY
HUNDREDS OF TASTE BUDS.
