The Design Space
● Students on campus need specific items only
for temporary use and don’t want to buy them.

● A way for students to get items they need

quickly without having to leave the dorm.

● A new way to create passive income for

students with little work.

● A new way to create communities and Our original design of the

interactions within a dorm or pod of dorms. Starship did not change much
other than altering the interior
by adding a system of straps to
secure items while in transport.
Interviewed Users and Experts
● 2 student users
○ To determine the feasibility and understand our users
● 1 dorm RA
○ A higher understanding of how we can create better
interactions between residents
● 1 starship user observation
○ Understand the current process and problems that
students encounter upon using the starship
● Distribution and technical expert
○ learned about the capabilities and changes that are
feasible for the starship
User Evaluation Solutions
● Reduced the hull size
● Included the addition of
cameras
○ Cameras only record when being
opened and closed
○ Cameras face towards the hull to not
breach privacy
● Created scanners within
charging pods
○ Required to go through scanner
before delivery

Feasibility
● Overall our product would be extremely useful and practical to students around
campus according to users.
● Our product is feasible for the purposes we propose as well as able to be made with
our current technology.
● However, the starship and charging pod would have to go through a major redesign in
order to achieve this goal. Our expert believed that this wouldn’t be very cost
effective for them as a company.
