The University of Humanities was founded in 1979 with the aim of training Russian language teachers and translators. In
1990, it expanded into the Institute of Foreign Languages. In 1999, the foundation of the School of Information
Communication and Management was established, and in 1999, the foundation of the School of Business was laid. It
started its educational activities by opening a new bachelor's professional program in science, and now it is conducting
bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree courses in about 50 majors in the fields of humanities and social sciences,
economics, business, information and communication technology.
It was accredited by the National Council for Education Accreditation for the first time in 1999, the second time in 2007,
and the third time in 2018. In 2017, it was accredited by the American Association of Business Schools and Curriculum
Accreditation. An official Cisco Academy program, recognized at the international level, has been launched.
A joint 2+2 program is offered by the University of Humanities and Korea University of Media Arts. Students who choose
the "Graphic Design" major of HIS can study at HIS in their first and fourth year, and at Korea University of Media Arts in
their second and third year, and graduate with a double diploma from both schools.
For students studying in a dual software program, in addition to studying their main major at the University of Humanities
for the first 3 years, they can continue studying at Dongkuk University in South Korea in their final year and graduate with
a dual diploma from both schools.
The University of Humanities has more than 10 years of experience working with Japan's Akita International University
and Sheiga University under cooperation agreements, and has enrolled 20 students in the 3+1 student exchange program.
