A Summary of the Movie
The movie is about Harpreet Singh Bedi, who is a fresh graduate and joins a computer sales
company – AYS – with an aim of becoming a salesman and proving himself that good marks
are not necessary to be successful in life. In AYS he soon realizes that his principles of honesty
and integrity are considered obsolete when he was abused by the Managing Director of the
company for complaining about a client asking for bribe to install computers from AYS in his
company. He also realizes that AYS believes only in sales, takes premium profit and doesn’t
given much importance to services to its clients. This makes him start his own company –
Rocket Sales Corporation – along with some of his colleagues from AYS with the motive of
selling computers to its clients in better price and with best service offers. Soon clients become
more attracted to Rocket Sales Corporation due to its offers and practices that makes AYS to
loose much of its market share. Then MD of AYS gets to know that Rocket Sales Corporation
is running by his employees so he made them arrested and made them sale Rocket Sales
Corporation to him. But soon MD of AYS realizes all its clients are backing out as he is not
able to give the same level of services to its client that original Rocket Sales Corporation was
giving. So he gives the company back to the founders of Rocket Sales Corporation, realizing
that to stay in the market he will have to change the practices of AYS which he earlier was
ignoring.
Critical analysis of the movie (1)
The movie clearly depicts that if employees are not valued and properly rewarded in the
organization then it causes conflicts and frustration among the employees. Moreover, if
people’s ethics and beliefs are not align with the company’s and employees views are not
given any importance then people resort to find alternatives and feel suffocated in the
restricted environment. These are reasons which made Rocket Singh to start his own
company – Rocket Sales Corporation – while he was working in AYS. He also managed
other employees of AYS to join his company and given them roles as per their caliber and
potential, which was not given to them in AYS.
