Structure
The format of the Thesis Writing design should be as follows:

 Acknowledgement
 Table of Contents
 List of Tables

• Chapter 1 – Introduction

1.1 Introduction
• Background about the topic or the study
• 1 to 2 paragraphs or 1 to 2 pages maximum

1.2 Statement of the Problem


• 1 to 2 paragraphs well describing the problem (must be very clear).
• (note: This is the common issues in writing Thesis or Dissertation. This shall be well
written and straight-forward statement)

This study aims to answer the following questions

• (note: Specific and Objective questions shall only be considered)

• Chapter 1 – Introduction

1.3 Significance of the Study


• 2 to 3 paragraphs describing the importance of the study related to financial, economic,
technical, environmental aspects, and its ecosystem.

1.4 Scope and Limitations


• 2 to 3 paragraphs describing the specific scope and outlining the limitations of the study.

1.5 Definition of Terms


• All technical terms used in the entire study shall be well defined. The purpose of doing is
to make sure that all readers can equally understand the problem, the methodology
used, and the discussion of results, the findings, and recommendations of the study.

• Chapter 2 – Review of Related Literature

• 2 to 3 pages synthesizing the historical


events related to its literatures (from previous
to most recent with proper citations)
• You need to properly acknowledge the
authors and the year of publications
• This must be written with diligence to capture
and followed the most related issues to your
proposed study
• Organization of different related research studies

Chapter 3 – Methodology
• In this Chapter, one may write the
methods or ways on how to solve the
problem mentioned in
Chapter 1
• This can be presented in either a
flow charting, procedural activities,
and or block-diagram format
• Descriptions and or explanations
shall be provided when using flow-
chart
or diagrams
• 3 to 5 paragraphs or 2 to 3 pages

Chapter 4 – Results and Discussions
• In this Chapter, one may
presents the result of the
study or findings with
detailed discussions.
• One may present in a form of
matric containing different
parameters such as, the
financial, economic,
technical, environmental
aspects of the study.
• One may compare also with
the previous systems versus
the proposed system and
discuss further its advantages
and economic value.
• 3 to 5 pages

Chapter 5 – Conclusion and Recommendations
• Based on the presentation of
results, one may draw up a
conclusion of the study and
present its recommendations.
• 2 to 3 pages
