What is Sportsmanship?

Sportsmanship is an understanding of
and commitment to fair play, ethical
behavior and integrity, and general
goodwill toward an opponent. It is an
affirmation that an athlete is
disciplined enough to have
perspective, maintain poise and do
what is best for his or her teammates
What is Good Sportsmanship?
• Good sportsmanship is an important part of responsilbe behavior.
Winning and losing are daily occurrences in everyone’s life.

• When there is competition,


each person tries to do
someting better than the others.
Games and sports are examples
of competion.
Being a good sport means remembering the reason we are playing
in the first place.
