PARTS OF A DETAILED LESSON PLAN

ENGLISH

I Objectives
II Subject Matter
III Materials
IV Procedure/Strategies
A. Preparation-preliminary activities like greetings, prayer, introduction of
oneself, checking of attendance and the giving of the Key Behavioral
Agreement or KBI
B. Review/Drill-use only 1 of these. If you use review, no more drill and if
you use drill, no more review.
C. Motivation- an activity that will arouse the pupils interest towards the
lesson. This is just a short one.
D. Presentation-directly present your topic without explaining .Ex. our lesson
for today is about Verbs
E. Discussion- you are going to explain your topic through activities as we
are learner-centered and you as a teacher is just a facilitator.
F. Generalization-this will be questions that will answer your objectives or
make your objectives into a question
G. Application- this will be group activities that would apply the pupils
learning based on your objectives.
V Evaluation- this is now the test to know if the pupils had learned something
from your lesson. Again based the direction from your objectives. Example if
one of your objectives is “identify verbs” your direction on the test might
be…identify the verbs from the set of words below and encircle it.
VI Assignment- this is the topic for the next session. If your given work to do
is related to your present topic, use the words Enrichment of Reinforcement
instead of Assignment.

Points to Remember

 Do not capitalize the first letter in writing your objectives and don’t put a
period after
 Use red ball pen in writing the parts of the lesson plan
 Under Procedure make a table where you separate the Teacher`s activity
from the Pupil`s activity by using a red ball pen to form the line
 Write it using the cursive strokes and follow the correct position of the
letters. It must be leaning to the right.
 In your discussion, avoid using all correct answers as majority of the
pupils are average. What if they could not answer it when you will do the
actual teaching during your demonstration? Always expect for a wrong
answer specially if the lesson is new. This is to keep you prepared in the
real teaching.
