• Accor is a French multinational hospitality company that owns, manages and franchises hotels, resorts and vacation
properties.
• It is the largest hospitality company in Europe, and the sixth largest worldwide.
• Accor operates in 5,199 hotels in over 110 countries with a total capacity is approximately 762,000 rooms.
• ALL (Accor Live Limitless) is their Loyalty Program with 68 million members
• Accor has 51 hotels in India as of 2019 and plan to open 25-50 hotels more by 2025.

• Hyatt is an American multinational hospitality company headquartered in the Riverside Plaza area of Chicago
• They manage and franchise luxury and business hotels, resorts, and vacation properties.
• It was founded on September 27th ,1954 by purchasing Hyatt House, Los Angeles International Airport.
• They currently operate 228,351 rooms with approximately 1100 hotels in 69 countries across 6 continents.
• They recently acquired Apple Leisure Group for $2.7 billion. This helped them to expand in to the European market.
• They current have 32 hotels in India under 8 brands with 7,000 rooms

• IHG is a Global Hospitality Company with its headquarters in Denham, Buckinghamshire, England.
• The company was originally called Holiday Inn Worldwide. It was bought by a company called Bass which was
originally a brewing company.
• This company then acquired Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts and renamed itself as IHG.
• They have 889,164 guestrooms across 6,031 properties. (As of 30th September, 2021)
• The IHG loyalty program is called IHG Rewards with approximately 100 million members.
• They have 1 million guestrooms within 6,700+ properties across the world (as on December, 2020)
• In the coming years, Hilton plans to open 679 hotels with a total of 133,424 rooms.
• 203 will expand Hiltons 5 Star offering and 476 are planned for upscale services or 4 star hotels.
• Their loyalty program is known as “Hilton Honors” with 123 million members.
• The company was founded by J. Willard Marriott and his wife Alice Marriott.
• Marriott is the largest hotel chain in the world by the number of available rooms.
• It has 30 brands with 7,642 properties containing 1,423,044 rooms in 131 countries and territories.
• They have 125 hotels in India with 36 locations operating 27,000 rooms.

• They currently manage 33 hotels under Oberoi and 10 under Trident group.
• The group also operates Clarkes Hotel, Shimla & Maidens Hotel, Delhi which
doesn’t come under either of the groups as well as a cruise liner in the Nile
River of Egypt.
• There are 25 Oberoi Hotels, Cruises and Resorts worldwide, out of which 15 are in India.
• The Trident group of hotels have 2,150 rooms across 10 hotels in India.
• They also operate the EIH Printing Press and Oberoi Flight Services.
• In India, the 14 Oberoi hotels have 2,391 rooms and the cruise in Kerala has 8 rooms
• Leela is a luxury hotel brand headquartered in Mumbai.
• It was founded in 1986 by C.P. Krishna Nair by acquiring 11 acres of land in Mumbai and building their first hotel.
• Their presence is seen only in India and currently are a group of 11 hotels and palaces operating 3200+ rooms.
• Brookfield Asset Management company acquired Leela Group in October 2019 for INR 3950 crores.
• Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) and Preferred Hotels and Resorts are some strategic alliances of Leela.

• This company was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1903 and is a part of the Tata Group, one of India’s largest business
conglomerates.
• This company operates 200+ hotels and resorts with 25,000+ rooms in 12 countries across 100+ locations.
• Their presence is seen in India, Bhutan, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE, UK, USA and
Zambia.
• ITC is India’s 5th largest hotel chain with over 100 hotels across 70 destinations in the country.
• It is headquartered in Gurugram, India. Its first hotel opened in 1975 as the ITC Chola in Chennai. It had a long
franchise relationship with the brand Sheraton.
• The hotel chain works on a philosophy of "Responsible Luxury” and each hotel in the chain has a LEEDS
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum rating.
• ITC has a franchisee agreement with Marriott for the Luxury Collection Brand.
• ITC has recently introduced 2 new brands and is following an asset right strategy.
