• Lee Byung-Chul started “Samsung group” as a trading company at a grocery store on March 1st, 1938.
• In 1960’s Samsung entered the electronics, insurance, broadcasting, securities, and as well as a department store and in mid
1960’s Founder Lee launched a radio and television station, started manufacturing televisions and electronic components
through the Samsung Electronics division.
• In 1970, Samsung started its Black & White TV production. By 1978, Samsung had sold 4 million black and white television
sets and between 1972 and 1979, Samsung began selling washing machines.
• In 1978, Samsung Group entered the semiconductor market as Samsung Semiconductor and Telecommunications Co.
• In 1980, Samsung began producing Air Conditioners and in 1983, the Company entered the personal computer market and
starts producing PCs.
• The death of Lee Byung-Chul followed Samsung group to separate into four business groups leaving it with electronics,
engineering, construction, and high-tech products.
• In 1991, Samsung developed 1st mobile phone handset and in 1999, it developed Smartphone –Wireless internet phone.
• Sony partnered with Samsung in 2006 to develop the supply of LCD panels and became #1 in global TV market share.
• In 2009, Samsung launched Galaxy Note and in 2015, it launched Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which are worlds 1st curved
display edges.
• Samsung Galaxy Series is one of the best android phones in the global market till today.
