 World largest electronics company Samsung was began in 1969 in
Suwon, South Korea as Samsung Electric Industries, originally
manufacturing electronic appliances such as TVs, calculators,
refrigerators, air conditioners and washers.

 Samsung is the world largest electronic and technology company.


INTRODUCTION TO Samsung make business of $117.4 billion in 2009. The headquartered
SAMSUNG of SAMSUNG is in SOUTH KOREA. It is the one of the largest South
Korean company. SAMSUNG Electronics is the global market leader in
more than 60 products.
 In 1938 Samsung start business local and non-electronic company ( a
dealer of fruits, vegetables etc) Samsung also introduce new innovation
other products such as media, machinery ship building from 1950s to
1970s.

 Samsung began producing electronic products, TVs and mobile phones


HISTORY / BACKGROUND in the late 60s. With the death of company founder in 1987, Samsung
got its second chairman. The global establishment and expansion of the
company started in 90s and reached in various countries of Asia,
Europe and America till 1997 its trade in electronic products. Samsung
managed to keep its progress pace in late 90s when all other companies
were facing severe credit crunch.
 The 2000s witnessed the birth of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphone series,
which quickly not only became the company’s most-praised products
but also were among the best-selling smartphones in the world.
Samsung also supplied the microprocessors for Apple’s
earliest iPhone models and was one of the largest microprocessor

Since 2006 the company has been the top-selling global manufacturer
of  televisions. Beginning in 2010, the Galaxy series expanded to tablet
computers with the introduction of the Galaxy Tab and in 2013
to smartwatches with the introduction of the Galaxy Gear.

 Samsung’s mission statement is “We will devote our human resources
and technology to create superior products and services, thereby
contributing to a better global society.” This corporate mission was
published in the 1990s, when the company was undergoing rapid global
expansion in various semiconductors, electronics, and related
technology markets.

SAMSUNG MISSION  Samsung focuses on the following components in its corporate mission:

2. Superiority of products and services.

3. Improvement of the global society.


 Samsung’s corporate vision is to “Inspire the world with our innovative
technologies, products and design that enrich people’s lives and
contribute to social prosperity by creating a new future.” The company
follows this vision statement to maintain profitable technology business

Samsung frequently refers to a shortened version of this corporate

 Strengths
 One of the main strengths of Samsung's its very vast product portfolio.
The company spends a lot of money on investing in research and
development and as a result, they have a wide range of products in their
product portfolio.
SWOTANALYSIS
 Besides that, the company has also a very strong brand and it is widely
recognized across the world. In addition to that, Samsung also has the
strength of being a very innovative company.

 Samsung is also an award-winning brand and has won many awards for
its various products.
 Weakness
 One of the main weaknesses of Samsung is its declining sales of its
smartphone. This is perhaps due to the competition that is brought
about by various other smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Lenovo,
Huawei and OPPO.

 Besides that, one of its main rivals, which is the Apple company, has a
very effective branding strategy which Samsung is unable to match and

thus its branding is another one of its main weaknesses.

 Another weakness of the company is that is heavily dependent on the


US market. The company sells most of its smartphones in the United
States and although it has diversified itsoperations in Asia, nevertheless,
it is still dependent greatly on US
 Opportunity
 Samsung has the opportunity to create more sophisticated and efficient
human resource management. This will provide it with a competitive
leverage over its competitors and they can utilise its brand image to
attract more employees.

 The company has significant opportunities in targeting members of the


SWOTANALYSIS middle-class markets.

 Company has to take advantage of its opportunities and expand its


customer base to new markets through diversification and acquisition of
other businesses.
 Threats
 The competition is very stiff and Samsung might find it difficult to
fend of this competition in the event that it does not innovate and
grow its markets at a faster pace. A great amount of competition
comes from those companies that are competing within the
consumer electronics, the smart phone products and also the
computing industries. These include companies like Huawei,
Apple.

 In addition to that, Covid 19 can also have a very detrimental
impact on the business of the company in terms of its production
and marketing of its products. Such a factor can negatively affect
Samsung to such an extent that it can suffer significant losses.

 Many governments have started to put out guidelines that strive to


increase legal and regulatory compliance among companies such as
Samsung.
 Samsung Electronics commenced its operations in India in December
1995.

 Two Research & Development Centres are in India (Delhi &


Bangalore).

 Samsung Was one of the Most Largest Handset Mobiles Brand.
 Market Leader in Smart phones, TVs, Cameras , LED etc.

 Samsung Develop its first lightest mobile in Year 1993.
 It was Available in Code Division Multiple Acess Network.
 Samsung Launched Wave S8500 & SI9000 Galaxy S in June 2010.

 The Main Competitor is Nokia, Apple, Lenovo etc.
 Samsung GalaxyA21, Samasung Galaxy A52 5G, Samsung Galaxy Z,
Samsung Galaxy A03 are some of the Smartphones launched by
Samsung.
 Television:
 Samsung Electronics was established in 1969.
 Competitor for Samsung television Are Sony, LG & Toshiba.
 Samsung has Three Models in Television: LCD, LED, & Plasma.

Television  Samsung launched its first full HD 3D LED television in March 2010.
Samsung sold more than one million 3D televisions within six months
of its launch.

 With the launch of 3D Home Theater, Samsung became the first


company in the industry to have the full line of 3D offerings, including
3D television.
 Samsung has introduced several models of digital
cameras and camcorders including the WB550 camera, the ST550 dual-
LCD-mounted camera, and the HMX-H106 (64GB SSD-mounted full
HD camcorder). In 2014, the company took the second place in the
Cameras
mirrorless camera segment.Since then, the company has focused more
on higher-priced items. In 2010, the company launched the NX10, the
next-generation interchangeable lens camera.
