ADJECTIVES ENDING IN –

ED AND -ING

DEFINITION
• First of all we must know that an adjective is a word that modifies a noun:
• Examples:
• Superman is a strong visitor from another planet.
• My laptops is old but I like it.
• This is my new smartphone. It’s very expensive

• The examples show descriptive adjectives (also called qualitative adjective). They give
information about a quality of a person or thing.
LET’S ANALYZE:

• My job is interesting. I am excited.


• What does this job cause me?

• These children are annoying. My husband is annoyed.


• What feeling do these children cause in my husband?
DECIDE:

• Is she tired?
or
• Is she tiring?

• Remember –ed ajectives describe


how a person feels about something.
DECIDE:

• Is this job tired ?


or
Is this job tiring?
Remember –ing adjectives show
the reason for the person’s feeling
