Learning Objectives: At the end of the
lesson, the students are expected to:
• know the appropriate objectives and structures
of technical report; and
• determine the objectives and structures of
various kinds of reports.
1. This commonly contains a glossary of technical terms and list of figures and
graphs.
2. This part contains the title, researcher’s name, date of publication, and
copyright/license number.
3. This part discusses the details about the participants and the procedure of data
collection.
4. This part allows the readers to locate the sections they may wish to read.
5. This section highlights all the main points discussed in the report and it should be
the most polished part of the document.
6. It acknowledges all sources of information.
7. This is the main body of the report, containing details of the survey results.
8. It states the implication of the survey findings.
9. This section provides the reader with context to understand the background to the
survey, and the reasons for with the research has been conducted.
10. This emphasizes the researcher’s suggestions based on the findings.
