Present participles (prp)

- the ing form of the verb


- A prp is an adjective when it is NOT accompanied by some of the
verb be

Ex: The girl walking on the street is my sister

Compare:
the girl is walking on the street
(part of the verb when it is precedeed by some of the verb be)
Past participle (pap)

- A pap is an adjective when it is NOT accompanied by some form of be or have

Ex:
the food eaten by my sister was mine
The letter left in the mailbox was for m

Compare:
My food was eaten by my sister
the mailman has left a letter in the mailbox
(part of the verb because it is accompanied by was and has)
