Part of speech, clauses and sentences
Some parts of speech
- adjective (kata sifat, biasanya menjelaskan noun)
Ex: mental, nice, beautiful, creative etc

- Noun (kata benda , bisa menjadi s dan o)


Ex : mentality, book, beauty, creation, etc

- Adverb (kata keterangan, biasanya menjelaskan kata kerja)


Ex: mentally, slowly, creatively, etc

-verb (kata kerja, muncul setelah subject)


Ex : mentalize, create, walk etc
• You really have to check the validity of the
test
• I am going to validate the test in some schools
• The test is not a valid test due to some
experts
• We validly made the questions in the test.
Clauses
- A clause is a group of words which contains at
least a subject and a verb
- Sometimes it makes sense as a complete
thought and may stand as a sentence, but
sometimes it doesn’t.
For ex:
-she cried last night (independent clause)
-after she cried last night (dependent clause)
Sentences
• A sentence is a group of words which
communicate a complete thought or idea.
The most basic sentence in English contains
only a subject and a verb.

• A sentence may contain only a couple of words,


or can be longer and have a more complex
construction, and this is when clauses may be
used.
• I cried and I was mad
Subject:
Noun
Pronoun (I,you etc)
Gerund (walking is good)=kata kerja+ing
To infinitive (to walk is good)
Noun phrase (that walking is good is very clear)
• Verb
Regular irregular verb (walk, cry, went, ate etc)
Am is are was were
Modal auxillary (can, may, will, could etc)
