Domestic Violence Prevention Act of Bhutan:

• Ten years, permanent total disability to the


victim;
• Seven years, permanent partial disability to
the victim;
• Five years, temporary total disability to the
victim; or
How can we help/prevent violence against men
and women?

1 •Believe the victim

2 •Men are encouraged to join movement to end gender based violence

3 •People should report acts of abuse and violence to the nearest police station.
4 •Question gender roles and assumptions and strive for gender equality

5 •Notice when someone invades your boundaries and speak up

6 •Acknowledge that it does happen in your own community

7 •Realize that sexual violence is about power and control, not sex

8 •know that respect is the bare minimum in a relationship

9 •Speak out against sexist jokes and misogynistic attitudes
