• Chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; After the fall of the apartheid, Tutu chaired
the truth and reconciliation which was responsible for investigating human rights violation during the
apartheid era.
• A noble Peace prize; In 1984 Tutu was awarded the a noble peace prize for his effort in the anti apartheid
movement.
• Advocacy for human rights; Tutu is a vocal advocate for human rights including LGBT rights, women’s
rights and rights for refugees and the migrants.
• The Role of the Anglican Church; Tutu Served as archbishop of the cape town and primate of the
Anglican church of southern Africa.
