PUDDING MODEL
In this reporting we will discuss the root and
history of Plum Pudding Model proposed by
J.J Thomson. We cannot guarantee that the
obtained information is accurate or enough,
however we hope that our performance at the
least enlightens the audience in the end.

DID YOU KNOW?
The "plum pudding" model refers to J.J. Thomson's atomic
model, also known as the "Rutherford-Bohr model". It was so
named because the electrons were thought to be distributed in a
similar way to the plums in a plum pudding.
In this model, Thomson proposed that the atom is made up of a
positively charged sphere with electrons embedded in it, like
raisins in a pudding. This model was later modified by Niels
Bohr, who proposed that electrons orbit the nucleus in specific
energy levels.
This atomic model was eventually replaced by more accurate
models, such as the wave-mechanical model, but it played an
important role in the development of our understanding of the
structure of atoms.
The plum pudding model (also known as
Thomson’s plum pudding model) is a historical
scientific model of the atom. The plum
pudding model is defined by electrons
surrounded by a volume of positive charge,
like negatively-charged “plums” embedded in a
positively-charged “pudding” (hence the
name).
