    An earthquake occurs when two blocks of earth suddenly slip past one another along a fault. Earthquakes can happen in countries along the Pacific Ring of Fire as well as underground or underwater. Earthquakes can cause massive damage and loss of life. During an earthquake, energy travels through the earth as seismic waves from shallow to deep points within the earth. Underwater earthquakes associated with oceanic-continental subduction, especially those over magnitude 7 where the focus is less than 30 km deep, can produce tsunamis by causing vertical movement of the sea floor.

    What is Earthquake

     Earthquake is what happens when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one
    another. The surface where they slip is called the fault
     Earthquake can happens in countries that covered by pacific ring of fire. Earthquake
    can happen in underground or in underwater
     Earthquke can cause lot of damage and can cause of death of millions of people
    Earthquake
     During an earthquake, energy travels through earth in the form of seismic waves
     The point within earth is found at different depths and is classified as shallow (10 to
    100 km), intermediate (70 to 300 km), or deep (300 km or deeper).
     Under water earthquake associated with oceanic-continental subduction cause a
    vertical movement of sea floor. Those greater than magnitude 7 and whose focus is
    less than 30 km produce a significant movement that generates large ocean waves
    called tsunami.
