Sound
Is a form of energy. It is
made when something
vibrates.
Soft and Loud Sounds
Some sounds are soft. A soft sound is
faint or pleasant to hear.
Some sound are loud. A loud sound makes a lot
of noise. Examples of loud sounds are roaring
thunder, a car honking, its horn and the fire
engine siren.
Some sounds are too loud that they hurt your
ears. You must wear ear protectors to protect
your ears from very loud sounds.
The loudness of sound is measured by
decibels (dB). A soft sound like a whisper is I5
Db. A loud sound like the sound of a running
motorbike is 70 Db.
