INTRODUCTION
Agile project management is an iterative approach to
delivering a project through out its life cycle. Iterative
approaches are frequently used in software development
projects to promote Speed and adaptability .

Agile methodology is a project management framework , used

by teams to iteratively and incrementally complete tasks and
projects. In most cases agile is implemented in the form of a
working framework known as scrum , over a short work beats
called sprints. Agile methodology’s main priority is customer
satisfaction. Despite the benefits that agile can offer, it’s not for
everyone, it’s vital to understand the disadvantages of agile
methodology before taking it.
SCRUM – AGILE METHODOLOGY
Scrum is most used of the many frameworks of the Agile Working : As the development team sets out to build a new
methodology. Scrum is characterised by cycles or stages of procedure , they have long list of stories, features,
development, known as sprints requirements, enhances and fixes to work on- product backlog,
from that they will work for next sprint.
SPRINT- short period of time wherein development team
works to complete a specific tasks . They break down big
projects into bit sized pieces. This makes project more
manageable , gives more flexibility and time to adapt to
change. Short iterations helps to reduce cost and reduce risks
and get fast feedback from the users.

Milestones like the end of the sprint comes frequently & gives
them a sense of regular tangible process. This helps them stay
energised and focussed also increase employee satisfaction
Advantages and Disadvantages of
scrum:
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

1. There is a lot of motivation in teams, because 1. The segmentation of the project the research for agility
programmer’s want to meet the deadline of every sprint of the development can sometimes lead the team to lose
track of the project as a whole, focussing only on one part
2. The transparency allows for the project to be followed by 2.Each developer’s role may not be well defined resulting
all members of a team or even an organisation in some confusion amongst team members

3.The focus on a quality is a constant in the scrum method

resulting in fewer mistakes

4.The dynamics of this method allow developers to

reorganise priorities , ensuring that sprints that have not yet
been completed get more attention
AGILE PRACTICES-12 PRINCIPLES
CISCO-KILLING AT SAFe
Cisco’s Subscription Billing Platform(SBP) project used separate
design , build ,test and development teams, with each team working
in sequence . This approach slowed the development process ,
resulting in extended-release cycles, missed delivery dates , quality
problems , and lots of overtime. CISCO adopted the scaled Agile
Framework (Safe) and introduced three agile release train on SBP-
capabilities, defects and fixes and projects. The idea was to
collaborate on building and testing small features within one SaaS
component and Delivering to the system integration and testing
team. Cisco delivered the new release of SBP on schedule and with
no overtime . Defects were reduced by 40% compared to previous
waterfall releases and defect removal efficiency increased by 14% .
Scaled Agile Framework
SCALED AGILE FRAMEWORK: EXTENDED CERSION OF SCRUM:

The scaled agile framework (SAFE) is as set of organization and

workflow patterns intended to guide enterprises in Scaling lean
and agile practices. SAFE is one of a growing number of
frameworks that seek to address the problems encountered when
scaling beyond a single team. SAFE is made freely available by
scaled Agile, Inc. , SAFE promotes alignment , collaboration ,
and delivery across large numbers of agile teams. It was
developed by and for practitioners , by leveraging three primary
bodies of knowledge : Agile Software development , Lean
product development and systems thinking.
AGILE METHODOLOGY IN MARKETING
INDUSTRY
Agile marketing is a tactical marketing approach in which HOW TO IMPLEMENT AGILE MARKETING:
marketing teams collectively identify high-value projects on
which to focus their collective efforts. Agile marketing teams use Each marketing department will find precise agile format that
SPRINTS (short , finite periods of intensive work) to complete works best for them Agile marketing implementation will
those projects and then continuously and incrementally improve
results over time have four features in some form of fashion:

VALUES OF AGILE MARKETING: 1) SPRINTS: a sprint is how long you give your team to
complete their current projects. Range from two to six weeks.
1) Responding to change over a following plan
2) STAND UP MEETINGS: every day team needs to get
2) Rapid iterations over big-bang campaigns
together and have a very brief check in . these should be 15
3) Testing and data over opinions and conventions
minutes at the most. Each team member goes over what they
4) Numerous small experiments over a few big bets
did before and blocks they have encountered . Blocks should
5) Individuals and interactions over large markets be addressed right away
6) Collaboration over silos and hierarchy
AGILE MARKETING:
HOW TO IMPLEMENT AGILE MARKETING: WHAT AGILE MARKETING DEPARTMENT CAN DO? : Agile

1) BOARD TO TRACK PROJECT PROGRESS: Whether it’s the marketing allows marketers to:
good ole’ whiteboard with sticky notes , a nice and simple
1. Respond quickly to changes in the market
KANBAN BOARD , or a big fancy specialized software , you need
2. Produce rapid campaigns that can be tested and optimized over time
a centralized way to track your sprint that everyone has access to.
3. Try lots of things and repeat the ones that succeed
2) TEAM WORK: While an individual may “own” a project , the
success or failure of the sprint rests on all the team members. 4. Use input from other departments to augment marketing efforts
Everybody has to be prepared to collaborate and assist in Agile
5. Justify choices in campaigns and projects with hard data
marketing framework.
6. Collaborate with team members to prevent a tunnel-vision approach to
marketing
LIMITATIONS OF AGILE
METHODOLOGY:
1.Poor resource planning: Because Agile is based on the idea that teams
4.No fragile end: Agile requires minimal planning at
won’t know what their and result will look like from day one , It’s
challenging to predict efforts like cost, time and resources required at the
the beginning makes it easy to get side-tracked
beginning of a project delivering new, unexpected functionality.it means that
2. Limited Documentation: Documentation happens throughout a project ,
projects have no finite end, as there is never a clear
and often “just in time” for building the output , not at the beginning . As a
result , it becomes less detailed and often falls to the back burner.
vision of what the “final product” looks like.
3.Fragmented output: incremental delivery may help bring products to 5.Difficult Measurement: Since Agile delivers in
market faster , but it’s also a big disadvantage of agile methodology. That’s
increments , tracking progress requires you to look
because when teams work on each component in different cycles, the
complete output often becomes very fragmented rather than one cohesive across cycles. And That long game makes measuring
unit progress difficult.
Conclusion:
The agile development methodology is being widely accepted within the software development
community . Agile provides multiple benefits over the previously used waterfall methodology. Agile process
is deigned to help train developer in their schedule estimating skills through out the lifecycle. Other main
focus of agile is how to identify and involve stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the software. With
improved planning and stakeholder involvement process is an idea that keeps the software even if the
destination changes frequently
