3:20
•All Christians have dual citizenship.
•We are citizens of heaven, traveling through
this earth.
•We are citizens of this earth on our way to
heaven.

•This dual citizenship raises 3 questions.


WHAT ARE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS
CITIZENS OF HEAVEN? (PHILIPPIANS 3:20)
1. We are to represent our King while on this earth.
2 Corinthians 5:17
a) Through faith in Jesus, Paul became a new man.
b) He then became an ambassador for Christ in this world.
c) He called others to be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20
WHAT ARE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS
CITIZENS OF HEAVEN? (PHILIPPIANS 3:20)

2. We are to live on earth in a manner that causes others to


glorify our King.
a) Let your light so shine before men (Matthew 5:16).
b) We are to live blamelessly in order to be lights in a dark
wor

CITIZENS OF HEAVEN? (PHILIPPIANS 3:20)

Philippians 2:15-16
The citizens of heaven should be easily identified
on earth because of how they live.
WHAT ARE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS
CITIZENS OF EARTH? (ROMANS 13:1-8))

1. Citizens of heaven should be model citizens of


earth.
2. We are to be subject to leaders of the land.
WHAT ARE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS
CITIZENS OF EARTH? (ROMANS 13:1-8))

a) We must recognized that government is ordained


by God.
b) We must honor those who enforce the law and
keep the peace.

CITIZENS OF EARTH? (ROMANS 13:1-8))

3. We are to pay our taxes (verse 6)


4. We are to show respect to leaders (verse 7)
5. We are also to pray for those who have authority
over us.

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN THIS
RESPONSIBILITIES CLASH?

1. We must obey GOD rather than men.
CONCLUSION
As a citizen of heaven, how are you
representing JESUS.
Are you recognized as a good citizens of
earth?
Are you committed to obeying GOD
whatever the cost?
