Text: 2 King 20: 1-7

Let us study the life of King Hezekiah.

1.Hezekiah was the second best king of Judah.

2. He was also the richest of all kings,


north and south, besides Solomon. (2
Chronicles 32: 27-30)
3. He organized the greatest
Passover celebration since the
days of Solomon.
Let us study the life of King Hezekiah.

4. He repaired the palace (Temple) of GOD, and opened


the doors of the Temple.

5. He revived the people of GOD.

6. He was the king who was


told to get ready to die. (verse
1)

I. DEATH IS COMING TO US ALL (verse
1)

1. “It is appointed unto men once to die”


(Hebrews 9:27)
2. “Death is the result of sin”
(Romans 5:12-14)

II- WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO LIVE
UNTIL PREPARED TO DIE (verse 1)

1. We ought to prepare for death.


2. We should set our spiritual affairs in
order.
a) Prepare to meet GOD (Amos 4:12)
b) Prepare by being born again (John 3: 3-5)

3. Faith in Christ prepares one both to live


and to die.
c) Jesus makes life worth living. (John
10:10).
d) Jesus takes the sting out of dying. (1
Corinthians 15:55-57)

III- THE TIME OF DEATH IS
DETERMINED BY THE LORD (verse 2-7)

1. Hezekiah had been pronounced terminal.


2. Prayer changed the kings dying date.
a) Hezekiah had already learned the value of
prayer.
b) He prays for GOD give him years to live.
3. God’s wonderful answer to
Hezekiah’s prayer. (verses 5-6)
a) “ I have heard thy prayer ”
b) “ I have seen thy tears ”
c) “ I will heal thee ”
d) “ I will add unto, thy days fifteen
years”
