VENTILATION
CLINICAL PARAMETERS
• Visualization of the tube between the vocal cords
• Symmetric chest wall expansion
• Absent epigastric sounds
• Bilateral breath sounds
ASSISTED VENTILATION
VENTILATION TECHNIQUE
• Use an adult self inflating bag
• Deliver adequate tidal volume sufficient to chest rise
• Ventilation rate:
• If with advanced airway in place: 1 breath: 6 seconds
continuous chest compressions
• If without an advanced airway in place: 2 breaths after every
30 chest compressions
• Avoid excessive ventilation
