The study investigated how social justice, diversity, and equity are addressed in the foundational courses of the Purdue Teacher Education Program (PTEP). It proposed a framework where social justice is integrated across all experiences, including courses, activities, and clinical placements. The researcher analyzed assignments, activities, readings, and discussions in various foundations courses and clinical placements based on social justice frameworks. The analyses found references to diversity, equity, and social justice were often implicit. It was also found that all foundations courses included attention to at least one dimension of social justice, but tools related to social justice could be enhanced. Understanding how the program addresses these issues could help personnel strengthen opportunities across courses.
