positions – last few years (even before pandemic) lack of enough STEM educated
people to fill position – acute problem now everywhere – OEMs and suppliers
 ASQ – 20+ years – how to engage current and new and future professionals
ASQ Automotive Division Outreach to University
 Lawrence Tech started November 2016
 Oakland University started Feb 2017 – Lunch and
Learns, Symposiums
 Wayne State started Sept 2021
 Sept 2022 reaching out to various SWE Sections
Need an ally in the administration / faculty.
Invite students to in person events free of charge.
Add students to monthly email regarding ASQ webinars and events.

Haven’t been able to create leaders within


students yet due to the short semesters.
