• Utilizes the ‘method difference’

• Uses two sets of variables. The first

set.
• Experimental study is defined as

• In experimental design the researcher
is active agent rather than observer SENIOR

DESIGNS
• Experimental designs are concerned
with examination of the effect of an

TRUE EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

A True Experimental Design consist of three important characteristics
• MANIPULATION – refers to conscious control of IV by the researcher through
BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF

treatment or intervention to observe the effects to DV.

• CONTROL – refers to the use of control group and controlling the effects of
extraneous variables on the dependent variable in which the researcher is
interested. The subjects in control group doesn’t receive the experimental
treatment or any intervention.
A comparison of the experimental group is made with the control group to
observe the effect of treatment.
• RANDOMIZATION – means that every subject has an equal chance of being
assigned to experimental or control group.
