Grant Proposal

Mount Bethel
Elementary PTA
Mount Bethel Elementary is in
Marietta, GA and has a
wonderful Parent Teacher
Association that is willing to
help teachers and students by
providing the opportunity to
apply for a grant. The
Appropriations Grant should
adhere to the mission of “making
every child’s potential a reality.”

Identifying Needs
• After addressing different grade levels, the
tool that seemed to be mentioned quite
frequently is IXL. IXL is an online learning
platform that can be accessed on the
computer or on a mobile device. A
membership to IXL provides users with
access to the four major content areas (math,
language arts, social studies, and science).
There are thousands of unique topics to
choose from, skills in multiple subject areas,
and an adaptive learning algorithm that
allows for personalized learning. IXL is also
aligned to Common Core Standards and
Next Generation Science Standards.

Advocacy
This grant proposal is being written to advocate for teachers and students. The
IXL subscription grants access to a digital resource that can be used to
determine understanding of state standards, while also allowing for
differentiation, assessments in real time, progress monitoring and
documentation, and demonstration of success as they progress towards mastery.
IXL would allow for teachers to have a resource that is user friendly for
themselves and students, addresses all four major content areas, and provides an
immersive learning experience that is also adaptive.

improvement is needed and specific concepts that need to be reviewed
• Hide the grade level so that students are focused on the concept, rather than
what level they are performing at
