Introduction
Throughout the decade, the use of
technology has significantly improved. In
fact, there are many technologies invented to
help us in our daily lives such as to
communicate one person to another, and it
aids us to ease our studies/works. Therefore,
most of the people rely on their lives in
technology. One of the most used
technology is the cellphone. A cellphone is a
device used to communicate, streaming of
social media, to get limitless information and
a lot of other functions. Cellphones have also

In this research, the researchers will find
out the level of perception of grade 10
students on the effects of using
cellphones to the academic performance
in Physics subject at Innovative College
of Science and Technology. The
importance of this study is to find out if
the grade 10 students use cellphones
efficiently based on their academic
performance. The discoveries of this
study will benefit the teachers and
students by monitoring the use of
mobile phones and to know how to use
cellphones efficiently considering that
cellphones play an important role in
Physics subject.
 The cell phone has been one of the quickest developing advancements and
necessities in the world to date. It is an invention that has made the twenty-first
century totally not the same as some other in our history. Mobile devices can be
used to enhance classroom learning. Some of the useful features include the ability
to access information, record data, and create podcasts (Chartrand, 2007). They
can also be used as a way to gather data for classroom presentations and enhance
interactivity in large classroom settings (Scomavacca, Huff, and Marshall 2009),
and serving as an alternative to “clickers” used in personal response systems

A study by Bianchi et al., using predictors from
addiction literature, the study sought to predict
problematic mobile phone usage. It keyed in
on factors they believed to cause mobile phone
disorders. 195 subjects of both genders and an
average age of 36 (ranging from 18-85 years
old) were interviewed. The results lead to the
creation of the Mobile Phone Problem Use
Scale. This scale was compared to the
