clowning

By Sam Farrell.
introduction
Clowning is a form of theatrical comedy which uses
slapstick and simple storytelling.

There are three techniques that we learnt which are comedy,

skills and magic.
comedy
Comedy in clowning is about playing the role of the fool

It is about turning ordinary tasks into difficult tasks that seem impossible to
complete.
It is about making the audience laugh at you, making mistakes can make
the performance better
Making things go wrong is more entertaining to watch and creates a
funnier piece.
skills
 Clowning relies on skills to impress and
engage an audience
 These skills require training and lots of
practice in order to perfect them
 Examples of this are, juggling, flipping
hats, illusions and many more.
 Both clowning and magic tend to overlap
with skills and the process.
magic

Magic and clowning have a lot in common as said before\

Magic is about deceiving the audience into believing
something practically impossible has happened
A magician wont able to fool an audience if they arnt well
rehearsed
Also, the biggest rule in magic, never reveal how you do it.
