position or an office appointment that is based on laws and
regulations.
 often called as formal power structure.
Authority can change via election, revolution, retirement,
resignation, death, removal from office.
Influence
 A power that a person possess due Commendable achievments
to the perception of other people of Good public relations skills
his/her ability. Wide and external linkages
 Informal Power structure Dependability in dealing with other
people

natural method to delay, or terminate pregnancy.

External – a national boundary to another.

Community power actors vary depends on a community,
because nothing is constant.

4. Amorphous
Pluralist
Power becomes an attribute of an individual and widely
distributed, making its member equal in influence.
There are multiple power that are related to a specific
issues.
Elitist
Power generally comes from the wealthy people that have
control over financial, industrial, and commercial resources
of a certain community.

Factional
Power resides in numerous groups with equal power.
Heated debate and group in-fighting is very common.
Amorphous
 No identifiable power exist.
 often called as the “sleeping giant”

Positional Method
 This procedure mainly focus on selecting power
actors based on the important position they occupied
in formal organization.
 Weakness of this method is it fails to identify
power actors that operate behind the scene and
power actors sometimes does not exercise the power
vested upon them to affect communities.
Reputational Method
 The process involves the selection of many knowledgeable citizens
who can provide a list of power actors, after that the power actors
will then be ranked according to their reputation in the community.
 Weakness – a tendency is people concludes reputation with social
status.
Decision Making Method
 This involves tracing the history of a collective decision
concerning at least one issue.
Social Participation
 A set of criteria can be developed to determine the
degree of organizing committee.
