What is Degree of
comparison?

In English language,a degree of comparison is a form


of adjective that is used to compare a person or thing
possessing the same quality with another.It is related to
the adjective or adverb in a sentence.
What function Degrees of Comparison?

Equality Comparison
• Equality Comparison is use to express than an object or person is ini the same or equivalent
condition as another.This sectense structure is formed by placing an adjective between two as.
• Equality comparison have a two type which is a positive degree and negative degree.
• Positive degree
S + o be + as + Adjective + as + Object
• Negative degree
S + to be + Not + as/so + Adjective + as + Object
The adjective has a standard form without change: big,carefully,difficult,easy,rich,etc

Comparative Degree
● function to compare the difference between two objects. The object in question can be an
animate or inanimate object, which is modified as bigger, smaller, faster,
higher, and so on.

with the word ”than”
● or long adjectives (more than 2 syllables) it is generally passed with the word "more"
before the adjective, then followed by the word "than“
