?WHAT IS PASSIVE VOICE

Generally, the passive is proffered when


the doer of an action is unknown.

The object of the active sentence will be


the subject of the passive sentence.
BY AGENT

The agent is the person or thing that


performs the action and is the subject
of the active sentence.

PRESENT SIMPLE .1
Active : She plays tennis in the garden.

Passive : Tennis is played in the garden by her.

Active : They bought the toys for the children.

Passive : The toys were bought for the children.


PAST SIMPLE.2

Active : The company sent the deliveries to the costumers.

Passive : The deliveries were sent to the costumers.

Active : She sang a song.

Passive : A song was sung by her.


3.PRESENT CONTINUOUS

Active : My father is washing the car.

Passive: The car is being washed.

Active : I am writing a poem.

Passive : A poem is being written by me.


4.PAST CONTINUOUS
Active : She was watching a film.

Passive: A film was being watched.

Active : He was repairing the bikes.

Passive : The bikes were being repaired by him.


PRESENT PERFECT.5
Active : I have opened the gift.

Passive: The gift has been opened.

Active : They have caught the thieves.

Passive : The thieves have been caught by them.


6.PAST PERFECT
Active : They had started the fight.

Passive: The fight had been started.

Active : Sara had cleaned the tables.

Passive : The tables had been cleaned by Sara.


7.FUTURE SIMPLE

Active : Muhammad will buy a new computer.

Passive: A new computer will be bought.

Active : The boss will sign the contract.

Passive : The contract will be signed by the boss.


8.WITH MODAL VERBS

Active : He can drive the car.

Passive: The car can be driven.

Active : They might kill the snake.

Passive : The snake might be killed by them.


SARA MAKES A CAKE

1. Present simple A cake is made.


2. Past simple A cake was made.
3. Present continuous A cake is being made.
4. Past continuous A cake was being made.
5. Present perfect A cake has been made.
6. Past perfect A cake had been made.
7. Future simple A cake will be made.
8. With modal verbs A cake should be made.
