    A. Consider the adjacent document showing 2 phases of the cardiac cycle:


    1. Identify these 2 phases. Justify your answer.
    2. Label the structures in the two figures.
    3. Name the missing phase.

    B. The following table shows the diameter and the speed of blood in three kinds
    of blood vessels: Artery, vein and capillary.

    1. Compare the diameter of an artery to that of a vein.
    2. Compare the speed of blood in an artery to that in a vein. 
    3. Conclude the relationship between the diameter of the blood vessel
    and the speed of blood. 
    4. "Capillaries are the suitable structures for exchange between blood
    and cells." Justify this statement.
