GUIDELINES

AND
MECHANICS
A. Players
 Each school /division should have the following
participants in each level.

Elementary: Grade 4… 1 participant


Grade 5… 1 participant
Grade 6…. 1 participant

 Secondary: Grade 7 -10 .. 1 participant per grade level


 Players will compete by Grade level
 Players from public schools are separated from private
schools
B. Cube
 Should have the standard color orientation
(6 colors). White and yellow are opposite
red and orange are opposite
blue and green are opposite
 Colored stickers/tiles should be recognizably

different from each other


 Should be in good rotating condition
 Each player will use (3)three 3x3x3 Rubik’s

cubes each round.


C. Mechanics
 There will be three elimination level.
1.Skill level
Each player will do the pattern/color given
by the facilitator. Three patterns will be done
continuously. The gray tiles means any other
unicolor.
Ex.

Top18 fastest players will qualify for the next level.


Patterns should be followed in order from left to right.
2. Speed level
Each player will do the one-colored side for
the three cubes. Colors should be followed
in order from left to right.
Ex.

Top 15 will qualify for the 3rd level.


 Note: It is very important that the cube is

solved before putting it down.


3. Black-out level
Each player will solve all sides of
the three cubes.
Top 5 players will be chosen as
winners/placers.
D. Time
Skill level
 3 minutes maximum for secondary
 5 minutes maximum for elementary
 Facilitators should provide the timers.

Speed level
 2 minutes for secondary
 3 minutes for elementary

Black-out level
 3 minutes for secondary
 5 minutes for elementary
E. Disqualification
 The following are some possible grounds for

disqualification:
 1. Inability to follow the pattern/s given by

the facilitators.
 2. Stopping the time before the cube is

solved.
 3. Overtiming
 4. Putting the cube down then picking it up

again realizing it’s not finished yet.
