1. DEFINING
The term “interrogative” is derived from
the verb “interrogate”, which means soal-
siasat in Malay.
Interrogative pronouns are used to ask
questions about a person or object that
we do not know about.
Compounds of these words are made by
attaching “-ever” to the words to
strengthen the emphasis on the word.
 Whoever (barangsiapa, sesiapa sahaja)
 Whichever (yang mana sahaja)
 Whatever (apa sahaja)

In order to create questions, you must
have the answers first.
For example, I bought the cake for
her.
So, the corresponding question should
be : Whom did you buy the cake
for ?

1) Determine the interrrogative pronoun.

2) Determine the tense and auxilliary verb.

3) Arrange the remaining words in the question.

•Reflexive Pronoun :
The object of a sentence, showing that it
refers to the same thing as the subject.

• Example :
Kamini made breakfast herself.

*SKILL 4 : REFLEXIVE PRONOUN AFTER
THE VERB
 If a reflexive pronoun is placed after the verb in
a sentence, then, it indicates that the respective
subject carried out the action just for the
subject's benefits.
Eg. : We reserved ourselves the movie tickets.
*SKILL 5 : THE WORD “BY” BEFORE THE
REFLEXIVE PRONOUN

 If the word “by” is placed before the reflexive


pronoun in a sentence, then, it indicates that
the action is done without help.
Eg. : The dog searched for the food by itself.

WORDS “ALL” AND “BY” BEFORE

 If the words “all” and “by” are placed before the


reflexive pronoun in a sentence, then, it marks
that the whole process of the action is carried
out by the subject
Eg. : I cook the dishes all by myself.
