French Bulldog

Appearance

French Bulldogs belong to the group of

small fighting dogs. They have a very
characteristic head shape - wide, large,
almost square in shape. The skin covering
the muzzle forms symmetrical folds, the
nasal part of the skull is shortened, so the
head is not elongated and

almost flat. The nose is black, wide, with symmetrical nostrils. The eyes of the dog are set low,
they are dark and large, slightly protruding, the inner eyelid is colored black. As the muzzle of
the French is large and brought forward, they cannot swim and therefore it is very dangerous to
leave them unattended by the pool or by the pond. Like all flat-faced dogs, the French Bulldog
has respiratory problems. Dogs of this breed are vulnerable in hot or wet weather.
Origin of the breed
 Despite its name, the French Bulldog did not appear
in France, but in England, in the city of Nottingham.
These small dogs were especially popular among the
working class. Mostly they were kept in factories to
fight rats. After the scientific and technological
revolution, thousands of workers lost their jobs and
rushed en masse to France, where their labor was in
demand. Of course, they took their pets with them. So
the dog got to France. Small Bulldogs have become
quite popular with workers and traders. Already at the
turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, French bulldogs
appeared among the French nobility. Images of
French Bulldogs began to appear on the canvases of
famous artists. The Bulldog is gradually becoming a
representative of the modern elite. Especially the
popularity of this dog has increased in recent decades.
The bulldog can easily adapt to any
conditions; it is a contact dog that will itself
seek the society of family members. It can
play with the child, watch the owner, or just
lie with you in front of the TV. French
Bulldogs are real psychologists, they are very
sensitive to people and orientate themselves
in the environment.

The little bulldog is fearless, he has embodied all the qualities

inherent in fighting dogs. It is very difficult to stop him if he
rushed into battle or grabbed the enemy. A short walk or a
short game with the owner is enough for the French Bulldog
to stay in good shape. The French show themselves in such
dog competitions as obedience, agility and rally.
At the beginning of the 20th century, many
celebrities fell in love with French bulldogs. Among
the modern stars, whose pets are dogs of this breed,
it is worth noting Yves Saint Laurent, Leonardo
DiCaprio, Gigi Hadid, Elton John.
French Bulldogs have a wonderful temperament and are
recognized as some of the best guide dogs in the world. These
dogs are flexible, easy to care for. French Bulldogs have a
reputation for being mischievous and funny pets. They do not
need a lot of exercise, but they do not mind playing with a ball in
the room or on the street, but at night they love to sleep curled up
at the feet of their owner. These dogs are perfect for both the
elderly and young people. The dog is full of love and devotion to
its owner and family members.
