What is
Baking?
 method of preparing food that uses dry heat, normally in an
oven, but can also done in hot ashes, or on hot stones
 primarily used for the preparation of bread, cakes, pastries and
pies, tarts, quiches, cookies and crackers.

Flour sifter

 used to separate and break up


clumps in dry ingredients such
as flour.

 Sifting is a process that
breaks up any lumps in the
flour
Grater
 a device having a surface
covered with holes edged by
slightly raised cutting edges,
used for grating cheese and
other foods.
Rolling Pin

 a cylinder rolled over pastry


or dough to flatten or shape it.
Pastry Brush

A pastry brush, also known


as a basting brush, is a
cooking utensil used to
spread butter, oil or glaze
on food.
Pastry Cloth

 a pastry cloth makes an
excellent work surface for
rolling out pie crusts,
biscuits, cookies, and other
doughs.
Pastry Tip

 are the nozzles on the end of


a pastry bag that the frosting
or filling is forced through to
apply it to cakes, cookies,
or pastries
Spatula
A narrow spatula that is built
with a thin, flexible stainless
steel blade

used for frosting cakes and


to spread toppings or
mixtures smoothly over the
food being prepared.

flat surface, perfect for
cooking breakfast foods like
bacon, sausages, pancakes,
home fries, french toast, and
eggs
Muffin Pan

 has 12 formed cups for baking


muffins and cup cakes
Custard Pan
  is a heat-resistant cup of
porcelain or glass in which
an individual custard is
baked.
Pop-over Pan
distinguished from regular
muffin tins by their deep,
steep-sided wells

popover pans have the


cups welded to a wire rack
which looks odd, but it
promotes even circulation
of air and heat around the
tins.
Loaf Pan

used to bake loaf bread


Jelly Roll Pan

 a type of flat sheet pan that


features a 1-inch rim around
the pan's sides.
 It is designed to make thin
sponge or sheet cakes that
are sturdy enough to coat
with creme, jelly, or other
fillings and roll into a
cylinder shape.

 A pastry blender is a cooking

 A paring knife is a small all-
purpose knife with a plain
edge that is ideal for peeling
(or "paring") fruits and
vegetables, and other small or
intricate work (such as de-
veining a shrimp, removing
the seeds from a jalapeño,
'skinning' or cutting small
garnishes)

It is made of wood and has
a long handle.
Rubber Scrapper

allow you to gather every bit


of dough from a board or
batter from a bowl, helping
make sure none of the
goodness goes to waste.
Rotary Egg Beater

a culinary utensil or device,


as an eggbeater, with one or
more sets of rotary blades
for beating, whipping, mixing,
etc.
Electric and Handy Mixer

 used to beat, whip, and


combine ingredients, all
requiring a smooth
functioning set of blades that
turn easily and consistently
during the mixing process.

Deck or Cabinet Oven

use conduction heat to bake


products.
Conduction heating is a
process in which heat
travels directly from a hot
stone or deck, to the loaf of
bread or sheet pan being
baked.
Microwave Oven
 is a very versatile kitchen
appliance which offers a
whole range of uses. 
 Microwave ovens can be used
to reheat and cook food,
disinfect kitchen
items, make citrus fruits
juicier, heating beauty
products, roasting garlic and
de-crystallizing honey.
