HETERONORMATIVITY- is the

concept that heterosexuality is the


preferred or normal mode of sexual
orientation. It assumes the gender
binary and that sexual and marital
relations are most fitting between
people of opposite sex.
HOMOPHOBIA -encompasses a
range of negative attitudes and
feelings toward homosexuality or
people who are identified or
perceived as being lesbian, gay or
bisexual. It has been defined as
contempt, prejudice, aversion,
hatred or antipathy, may be based
on irrational fear and may also be
related to religious beliefs.
Intersex-are individuals born with
any of several sex characteristics
including chromosome patterns,
gonads, or genitals that, according
to the Office of the United Nations
High Commissioner for Human
Rights, "do not fit typical binary
notions of male or female bodies"
Jock-is a stereotype of an athlete,
or someone who is primarily
interested in sports and sports,
culture, and does not take much
interest in intellectual activity. It is
generally applied mostly to high
school and college athletics
participants who form a distinct
youth subculture.
Kinsey Scale-also called the
Heterosexual–Homosexual Rating
Scale, is used in research to
describe a person's sexual
orientation based on one’s
experience or response at a given
time. The scale typically ranges
from 0, meaning exclusively
heterosexual, to a 6, meaning
exclusively homosexual.
Lesbian- A lesbian is a homosexual
woman or girl. The word is also
used for women in relation to their
sexual identity or sexual behavior,
regardless of sexual orientation, or
as an adjective to characterize or
associate nouns with female
homosexuality or same-sex
attraction.
Male gaze- In feminist theory, the
male gaze is the act of depicting
women and the world in the visual
arts and in literature from a
masculine, heterosexual
perspective that presents and
represents women as sexual objects
for the pleasure of the heterosexual
male viewer.
Male Privilege- is the system of
advantages or rights that are
available to men solely on the basis
of their sex. A man's access to these
benefits may vary depending on
how closely they match their
society's ideal masculine norm.
Academic studies of male privilege
were a focus of feminist
scholarship during the 1970s.
Masochism- the tendency to derive
pleasure, especially sexual
gratification, from one's own pain
or humiliation.

Matriarchy-is a social system in
which women hold the primary
power positions in roles of
authority. In a broader sense it can
also extend to moral authority,
social privilege and control of
property.
Misogyny-is hatred of, contempt
for, or prejudice against women. It
is a form of sexism that is used to
keep women at a lower social status
than men, thus maintaining the
social roles of patriarchy.
Misandry-Misandry is the hatred
of, contempt for, or prejudice
against men. Men's rights activists
and other masculinist groups have
criticized modern laws concerning
divorce, domestic violence,
conscription, circumcision, and
treatment of male rape victims as
examples of institutional misandry.
Non- Binary-are umbrella terms
for gender identities that are not
solely male or female (identities
outside the gender binary) Non-
binary identities fall under the
transgender umbrella, since non-
binary people typically identify with
a gender that is different from their
assigned sex, though some non-
binary people do not consider
themselves transgender.
Out -Loud and proud about his or
her sexual orientation.
Pansexual-Pansexuality is sexual,
romantic, or emotional attraction
towards people regardless of their
sex or gender identity
Paraphilia-are persistent and
recurrent sexual interests, urges,
fantasies, or behaviors of marked
intensity involving objects,
activities, or even situations that
are atypical in nature.
Patriarchy- Is a social system in
which positions of dominance and
privilege are primarily held by men.
Pride parade- is an outdoor event
celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, and queer social and
self-acceptance, achievements,
legal rights, and pride. The events
sometimes also serve as
demonstrations for legal rights
such as same-sex marriage.
Pussy- In slang usage, it can mean
"the human vulva or vagina" and
less commonly, as a form of
synecdoche, meaning "sexual
intercourse with a woman"
Queen- In gay slang, queen is a
term used to refer to a flamboyant
or effeminate gay man.
Queer- is an umbrella term for
people who are not heterosexual or
cisgender. Originally meaning
'strange' or 'peculiar', queer came
to be used pejoratively against
those with same-sex desires or
relationships in the late 19th
century.
