• To be responsible for their own health & safety and the safety of others.
• Must corporate with the employer and follow any health and safety
guidance/advice given

• Falling from height covers 18% of all non-fatal injuries
in construction industry

• All the legislation now under one regulation


• It covers all instances of working at height, where the
risk of falling can cause injury.

• Overseen by the HSE

• Make sure everyone is competent
• Provide training and instructions
• Areas of danger are indicated
• Not to put the employees in any unnecessary danger

• The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995
• IT IS LAW
• RIDDOR requires employers to report the following:
• Death
• Serious injury
• Industrial diseases
• Dangerous occurrences

EMPLOYERS & SELF EMPLOYED EMPLOYEE
• Designate a responsible person If they are not the ‘responsible person’ then
RIDDOR doesn’t apply to them
• Keep adequate records

• Follow all RIDDOR guidelines on reporting
