The teacher is responsible for
the safe condition of tools and
equipment used by the
RESPONSIBILIT
IES students, but the students have
the responsibility for proper
usage and maintenance of the
tools.
The teacher should
caution students in using
RESPONSIBILIT sharp tools like blades and
IES
knives. It should always
be directed away from
students.
Floors and working
areas must always be
RESPONSIBILIT
IES kept clean as possible
to prevent accidents
like slipping.
Always wear
appropriate personal
RESPONSIBILIT
IES protective
equipment.
DRIVING TOOLS
• Drivers are used in drilling, inserting,
and driving screws, nuts, and bolts into
surfaces with mechanical and manual
force.
DRIVING
TOOLS-
DEFINITION
SCREWDRIVER

• Hand/power tool used to tighten, loosen, and

remove screws.
• Has multiple types/versions for different
kinds of screws.
• Is also insulated in the handles.
SLOTTED SCREWDRIVER

• Also known as flat head or flat blade

screwdriver
• Used to drive or fasten negative slotted
screws.

SPLICING-DEFINITION

• Cable or wire splicing is the process of

connecting the endpoints of two or more
cable conductors. During cable splicing,
the wires of different length are joined
together while their original
characteristics remain the same. Splicing
can be performed on electrical and fiber
optical cables.
LONG • Primarily used to hold small wires and parts

NOSE
Is also used for bonding and stretching lead electronic
components or joining wires
SIDE CUTTER

• Cuts wires especially the wires sticking out from the bottom of a circuit
board after soldering a part in place.
• Isn't used to grab or turn components
WIRE
STRIPPER
USED IN STRIPPING
WIRES TO SHRED THE
CONDUCTOR.

• Hollow out a tube or tunnel
12V MINI-DRILL

• Creates 1/32” – 1/16” holes

• Used to bore holes in Printed
Circuit Boards (PCB)
PORTABLE
ELECTRIC DRILL

• Makes 1/6” – ¼” holes

• Suited for making holes on
Plastic or Metal Frames
