 What is multimedia?
• Derived from the word “Multi” and “Media”
• Multi- many, multiple
• Media- tools that is used to represent or do the certain things, delivery
medium, a form of mass communication- newspaper, magazine/TV.

• Multimedia means that computer information can be presented through

audio, video, and animation addition to traditional media (i.e., text,
graphics/drawings, image).
 Who invented multimedia?
Paul Gottlieb Nipkow

The multimedia concept can be

traced to Paul Nipkow, a German,
who in 1884 at age 24 developed
the first video disc. Nipkow
combined his video disc with
Guglielmo Marconi's radio
components yielding the Nipkow
system, which endured well into the
1920's as the standard for research
in video/audio projection.
 What is the purpose of multimedia?
The purpose of multimedia is to combine all of these so that the
benefits of each can be used in a desktop environment.

Why multimedia is important?

Multimedia is significant in our lives today because if we connect and
communicate with more than just one medium, we can use more than one
of our senses. Using a variety of artistic or communicative media like this helps
to make an idea or presentation fresh and interesting, and also allows for greater
insight.
What is multimedia and its
benefits?
Multimedia is anything that you watch and listen in a form of text, photograph,
audio, video and many. In the multimedia we can use being in the business,
schools, home, public places and virtual reality. These have many functions to do
many things and have made the things to more mobile.

What is the value of multimedia?

Well-designed multimedia can enhance motivation, learning, and transfer. The most
effective multimedia provides learning experiences that mirror real-world experiences
and allow learners to apply what they've learned in various contexts.
