Planning
Introduction
Multimedia projects are complex; they often
involve the skills and efforts of multiple teams
or people.

During the development process, a project

moves through the specialized parts of the
team, from story creation to technical editing,
with regular collective review sessions.

Each stage is designed to refine the project

with attention to the client's needs, technical
requirements and audience preferences.
Project
Planning Planning and Costing is one stage of
multimedia project

Proper Project Planning is important as

planning the layout and content

Before you start to execute the graphics,

sounds and other multimedia contents, plans
should be in place which to ensure that the
necessary skills and resources are available.
Project Planning is defined as the formulation of a scheme of
program for the accomplishment or attainment of a
Planning goal of purpose.

All the activities to be implemented and executed as

part of the plan must related to the goal of the
project.

The planner needs to have the ability to break a

problem into its components to seek for step-by-step
solutions or processes to attain the goals.

The planner need to fore-see problems and potential

conflicts in order to avoid them.
Project Multimedia is anything and
everything that you watch and listen
Rationale in a form of text, image, audio, video
and many more representation. This
is usually recorded and played,
displayed or accessed by
information content processing
devices such as computer and
electronic devices. We can use
multimedia in different aspects in
our environment such as businesses,
schools, our own homes, public
places and transportation and in
virtual reality.
Goals and
Goals and objectives are both tools
Objectives for accomplishing what you want to
achieve.

Goals are long term and objectives

are usually accomplished in the
short or medium term.

Goals are the "what" of the process

and the objective is the "how" of
the process.
Goals and While formulating the goals and
objectives of the multimedia
Objectives application, the following critical
questions need to be addressed:

1. What is the purpose of the proposed

title?

2. What is the team trying to

accomplish?

3. What are the expected results?

Intended / In media studies, the audience is
any group of people who receive a
Target media text, and not just people
who are together in the same
Audience place.

They receive the text via a media

carrier such as a newspaper or
magazine, television, DVD, radio or
the internet. It can also be a mobile
phone, iPod or any other device
that stores or receives media
messages.
Intended /
Audience’ is a key concept throughout
Target media studies, because all media texts are
produced with an audience in mind - that is
Audience to say a group of people who will receive
the text and make some sort of sense out of
it.

Audience is part of the media equation – a

product is produced and an audience
receives it. This is where audience research
becomes important. A media producer has
to know who is the potential audience, and
as much about them as possible.
Delivery Any information we can get our hands
on can be categorized as multimedia.
Medium Anything from magazines, television,
computers, and the Internet is a form of
multimedia as it employs various inputs
from multiple sources to bring a unified
content to users.

The application of multimedia is so vast

that there is literally no way of staying
immune to it. Advertising is one huge
industry that has cashed in on
multimedia millions of times over and
with every message they want to send to
the masses.
Example of TEXT - is seen as probably one of the most
frequently combined mediums in the colorful world
of multimedia. It started as a written message you
Delivery wanted to send across to readers and has been one
of the key forms of communication in the world for
ages. In multimedia, it is usually combined with
Mediums photographs and video presentations to augment
these other forms of communication and give a
detailed description of them.

AUDIO - Audio files are a collection of sounds that

can be added and combined with all other types of
media in a multitude of ways. First, audio files can
function as musical backgrounds to images and
photographs, and even texts.
Example of IMAGES AND PHOTOGRAPHS - Images and visual
representations are probably one of the oldest forms of

Delivery media that date back to prehistory and the time of cave
drawings. With the advent of civilization and technology,
images have first been combined with texts and printed
in books and newspapers and are now seen in all forms
Mediums of media. Icons or small photographs and pictures
enhance written documents and give them a unique
edge and a powerful visual element.

VIDEO MATERIAL - is a collection of moving pictures

combined with audio files that provides one of the most
intensive multimedia experiences out there. Videos also
include written texts, which means that video material
often combines more than two different types of media.
Example of ANIMATION - One of the most
Delivery frequent types of animation seen
on the web today are GIFs,
Mediums otherwise known as graphic
image files that are in fact a
simple collection of images that
rapidly change, giving the illusion
of motion. These files are small,
compact, and easily transferable,
which is one of the reasons why
they dominate the world of the
Internet today.
Multimedia Multimedia Production is any sort of
Production production that uses imagery and a
combination of text, audio, and
graphics to tell a story. This story
and Operating might be the sale of a product, or it
might be the narration of an event. It
Environment can be educational, or it can be
artistic or both, or all of the above.
There is no required format for
multimedia production; there is no
set formula. There are unlimited ways
to approach it and incorporate it into
any model.
Multimedia Ordinarily, multimedia can
Production be artistic or educational,
and you can use it for ads or
and Operating creative purposes. Usually,
multimedia production
Environment projects are complex. It can
take many people or even
teams to work on one.
However, there are no strict
rules – it all depends on your
creativity.
Production
Budget Budgeting for each phases like consultants, hardware,
software, travel, communication and publishing is estimated
for all the multimedia projects.

A budget really includes everything that is going to cost

money in the overall creation of your digital video project.
This can be things like hiring crew, renting locations, setting
up production, paying for equipment, and other
conventional film industry items. It can also be the travel
costs, the cost of eating when shooting, and the cost of
being away from work. A production is difficult and the way
that you can plan, solve problems, and cut cost is to create a
comprehensive production budget.
Production is the process in manufacturing where
all production activities are planned or
Schedule scheduled on a timescale or for a time
period. Production scheduling includes
planning manufacturing activities like
procuring input goods, investment,
labor, logistics etc. for a specific time
period in a sequential manner. It
identifies that what resources would be
consumed at what stage of production.
According to the estimates, a time-
based schedule is made so that the
company does not fall short of
resources at the time of production.
