Introduction Curriculum content is defined as the ways and means of achieving the prescribed educational goals of a course of study. The curriculum content should be functional, aiming at promoting the all round development of the children and helping them to lead an independent life and integrate into the community. The selection of subject content of curriculum faces many issues . Problems in the selection of curriculum content Framing a new curriculum for school education is a challenging task Selecting the content of the curriculum the priorities to be given, our assumptions about what constitutes a good Education And the new society we visualize through children by their education are spelt out The teachers who follow the environment inquiry approach will give importance to the following four parts in their teaching . They are a. Giving importance to the children’s experiences. b. Providing opportunities to express their natural curiosities. c. Making students to evince interest to understand, change and improve the prevailing community environment d. Developing in students the relevant knowledge, practical skills, attitudes and values according to the nature of the subjects they study. These four elements will guide the teaching to be based on objectives, to develop creativity and show concern and care in eradicating social indisposition. Conclusion The selection of subject content is significant if it is selected and organized for the development of learning activities, skills, processes and attitudes . The problems in selection of curriculum content is solved by following inter disciplinary approach .
